''Limon and Oli'' is an animated cartoon series for children aged 4–9, created by Salih Memecan. The series has aired on Disney Junior since 2015 in 110 Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa (CEEMA) countries. The show was developed from a well-established cartoon strip, Sizinkiler ("Your kind of family"), which has been published daily in a Turkish national newspaper since 1991. After more than 20 years of entertaining readers from newspaper pages, the cartoon strip’s characters were brought to life in the 3D animation Limon and Oli. The cartoon strip finds humor and wit in everyday family life. It stories the relationships among spouse and parents as well as between friends. More than 7,000 published cartoon strips were reprinted across more than 200 book titles. Over 3.5 million book copies have been sold. The cartoon tells the tales of a nuclear family. == Premise == The television series revolves around the children, Limon and Oli, who turn everyday issues into adventures. Whether the issue at hand relates to school, themselves, the neighbors, or others, they seek to find creative approaches to situations – or get themselves into trouble and must find a way out. They grow with the experience. They explore life around them with curiosity, vivid imagination, and exuberance. They have fun and many laughs. Limon and Oli's friendship is unique in that gender is never an issue and nearly negligible. Their characters are based more on contrasting personalities than on gender role differences. They like each other's company. They play and have fun together, and that's what counts. The first season of Limon and Oli was aired as 26 five-minute episodes on Turkish TV, TRT Children's Channel from 2012 to 2013. The next season aired on Disney Junior as 26 seven-minute episodes. The second season began in Turkey on Disney Junior, in November 2014, and made it to the airwaves of 110 countries by April 2015.
